A Loss for the Racing Community: Long-Time Competitor Jamie Ramsay Passes

It is with deep sadness that Delaware Speedway has received the news of the passing of longtime competitor Jamie Ramsay following a battle with cancer. Ramsay was a well-respected member of the racing community known for his sense of humour and dedication.
Ramsay’s racing career began in 1989 when he began competing in the track’s entry-level Enduro series. Later, in 1995, Ramsay would move to Thundercar competition at Cayuga Speedway and raced Street Stocks at Delaware starting in 2000. In his first Street Stock season he was awarded rookie of the year and would later enjoy strong success with numerous feature wins and a track record credit in the seasons that followed. In 2007 Ramsay moved up into the top-level of competition at Delaware in the Late Model series where he earned feature wins in both 2009 and in 2010.
Visitation will be at Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Rd. in Dorchester on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
