Delaware Speedway ownership is thrilled to officially begin the renovations for the 2022 race season and beyond. After many updates already in 2021 including new lights, the track is set to undergo a major renovation.
On Wednesday, October 20th, the nearly 60 year old legendary track surface was officially milled by J-AAR Excavating and AAROC Aggregates, and preparations for new pavement began. The old racing surface was spread out in the infield and packed/rolled for a better pit experience. The racing groove will be repaved all the way around the half-mile with additional fixes and upgrades being made in several spots.
Additional renovations include fixing and anchoring the front straightaway wall, paving behind the crew pit wall and straightening the wall, building a new deck/stairs at the base of the main grandstand, adding a new expanded fan concourse at the top of the hill for displays and promotions, and much more!
