Junior Racing League – June 20th Recap
This Wednesday proved to be quite an interesting night of Krown junior racing. The night started off with the 22 of Rhett Mantik leading quickly passed by the 19 of Micheal Verberne who held the race lead until lap 6 when he was passed by eventual race winner Cody Wilds. Logan White led the senior field to the opening green flag and never looked back winning the first senior feature of the night, followed by Shane Jacobs in the 3 and Carson Sim in the 43 rounded out the top 3. The first truck feature had one of our largest fields of the season with 5 trucks, trouble struck quickly in this race as the 3 truck left the field before the first lap, Jacobs was able to fix the truck and come back out later in the race. The 85 of Ethan Ward held the top spot until he lost a wheel on the back stretch which allowed the 44 of Jacob Campbell to take the lead, Campbell held on to win the rest of the race which saw the return of the 3 and 9 truck after fixing minor mechanical issues. The junior feature was led to the green by the 81 of Liam Mullis, this race turned out to be one full of cautions starting on the first lap for a spin. By lap 3 eventual race winner Cody Wilds moved into the top spot and was able to stay there despite the many restarts. Due to time restraints this race was cut short and was called after 11 laps, with Wilds winning, Rhett Mantik coming in second and the 7 of James Relou came in third. The second senior race started with the top 3 cars collecting in a pile up, this race was also called due to time restraints and as a result of only 2 laps being completed officials decided not to count this race towards the year end points. The second truck feature was much quieter than the two races before it, by lap 5 eventual race winner Jacob Campbell moved into the top spot and held on to win the 15 lap feature.
