About Kyle Busch:

Many know Kyle Busch as a controversial and outspoken competitor. As one of  NASCAR’s top stars, he is a driver whom many fans love to hate for his hot temper mixed with magic on the track. Busch is currently driving for Joe Gibbs racing and won three races at NASCAR’s highest level in 2010.  In 2010 he also became the first driver in NASCAR history to sweep all three top-tier touring series events on the same weekend winning in the Camping World Trucks, Nationwide Series, and Sprint Cup Series at the Bristol event in August.  Busch’s vehicle is planned to be supplied by ABBY Motorsports which is the team behind multi-time Delaware Speedway champion Steve Robblee (#28) of Dorchester.

About Kurt Busch:

Kyle’s older brother Kurt Busch won the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship in 2004.  Driving for Penske racing, to date he has claimed 22 victories, 80 top-five and 153 top-10 finishes along with 12 career Cup Series poles.  Kurt Busch also has an IROC championship to his credit and since skyrocketing to the top of the stock car racing world early in his career he has been able to maintain a high level of performance on the track.  He is the current points leader in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.  Kurt Busch’s vehicle in the Delaware event will be provided by the Auto Parts Centres racing team.

History of the Event

Kyle Busch will be defending his 2010 win in the event when he won over Delaware Speedway’s weekly division drivers in the NASCAR Late Models.  The win marked Busch’s first win in Canada.  During the event he briefly claimed the Delaware Speedway track record with his qualifying time of 18.634 before local driver D.J. Kennington (#3) of St. Thomas reclaimed the record several minutes later with his blistering lap time of 18.509.  The two drivers ultimately squared off in the feature event where Kyle Busch made his winning pass over Kennington just before halfway to win the 50-lap event.
